An industrial art studio in a rural landscape, organised around one fuzzy northern view.
The studio mirrors the rural house across a semi-public garden. A large translucent opening brings even northern light into the workspace, while the uneven roof makes room for solar panels. Carefully placed windows keep the open interior adaptable over time.
A pair across the garden
The studio mirrors the DIY Rural House across a semi-public garden. Its position preserves the maximum depth of the landscape, allowing the two clear volumes to frame rather than divide it.
A roof that contributes
The roof slopes down towards the garden to remain modest from the house. Its uneven gable creates an efficient surface for solar panels, making the studio a complementary object that also helps power the home.
Northern light
One large translucent opening faces north for even working light. By day it gives an impressionistic view from inside; after dark the studio becomes a softly glowing object in the landscape.
Room to change
The open interior begins with a toilet, kitchenette, storage and generous workspace. Carefully placed windows allow a future mezzanine, separate studios or living space. Horizontal corrugated cladding echoes both the house and the lines of the previously ploughed land.
